112 new companies registered at North Somerset addresses in September, up from 97 in August, including a Portishead mini market and a Weston café.
A total of 112 new companies were registered at North Somerset addresses in September. That is up from 97 in August, on the same search of the Companies House register.
We counted every company incorporated between 1 and 30 September with a registered office at a North Somerset postcode. We searched the register by town and postcode district on 6 October, then checked each postcode against postcodes.io to drop addresses over the border in Somerset or Bristol.
Weston-super-Mare, including Worle and Milton, accounts for 48 of them. Clevedon has 16 and Portishead 12.
The new shops, cafés and workshops
Most new companies are consultancies, property firms and online sellers run from a home address. A handful have an address on a shopping street or a trading estate:

- Bloom & Bread Ltd, registered 12 September at 13 Orchard Street, Weston, classed as an unlicensed café or restaurant
- JNT Ltd, registered 8 September a few doors along at 4 Orchard Street, classed as a licensed restaurant
- Weston Tyres & Servicing Centre Ltd, registered 1 September at 165 Locking Road, Weston, a vehicle repair business
- Autograph Classic and Custom Ltd, registered 10 September at Westex House, Weston, also vehicle repair
- Kenn Motor Services Ltd, registered 26 September at Kenn Court Business Park, Kenn Road, Clevedon
- Hello Sailor Marine Ltd, registered 14 September at Westfield Court, Barns Ground, near Clevedon, classed under communication equipment manufacturing
- Sweet&Tipsy Ltd, registered 11 September on Church Road, Worle, classed as a cake and confectionery shop
Hair and beauty had six new companies, against one in August. They include:
- Kurd & Style Barber Ltd, 9 Alexandra Parade, Weston
- Aura Beauty & Tanning Ltd, 5 Churchill Road, Weston
- Broad St Hairdressing Ltd, 4 Broad Street, Congresbury
- Yatton Barber 1 Limited, 104 High Street, Yatton
Pubs, holidays and a pottery
Two new companies are classed as pubs and bars: JT Pub Co Ltd and Kezzor Limited. Both give a Clevedon accountant’s address, so the register does not say which pubs they will run.
Elsewhere:
- Pill Potters C.I.C., registered 9 September in Pill, is a community interest company. It is classed under cultural education and artistic creation.
- GMX Arcades Limited, registered 7 September at a Hutton address, is classed under amusement and recreation.
- Em’s Getaways Ltd, registered 30 September in Winscombe, is a holiday accommodation business.

A company that gives more than one activity is counted once, under the first group in the table that matches. “Everything else” includes care, couriers, health, sport, creative work and management companies for blocks of flats.
What it means for you
- A registered office is not always a shop. Many companies use a home or an accountant’s address. The ones listed above are those whose address looks like a trading premises, but registration alone does not mean a business has opened its doors.

How we counted
We searched the Companies House advanced search for companies incorporated between 1 and 30 September 2026, by registered office: the town names Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Portishead and Nailsea, and the postcode districts BS20 to BS26, BS29, BS40, BS41, BS48 and BS49. We removed duplicates and kept only postcodes that postcodes.io places in North Somerset. August was counted the same way. A company whose address carries no postcode, or a town name we did not search, would be missed.
