Tyntesfield is open every day to New Year except 24 and 25 December, with house mini-tours on November weekdays. Prices, parking and the Christmas events.
Tyntesfield, the National Trust’s Victorian Gothic house at Wraxall, stays open through the winter. It closes only on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and is open on Boxing Day. The Trust has not yet announced the theme for Christmas 2026. It says there will be a new one, “more details to follow”, but the first festive events are already on sale.
The quick answer
- Closed Thursday 24 and Friday 25 December; open Saturday 26 December. Short hours on New Year’s Eve, with the house open 11am to 1.15pm.

What happened last Christmas
The Trust’s Christmas page says that during Christmas 2025 Tyntesfield ran Once Upon a Christmas Time, transforming the estate from the Home Farm welcome building to the Kitchen Garden with fairytale decorations and a trail (National Trust, Christmas at Tyntesfield). For 2026 it says only: “we’re bringing a new theme and plenty of festive fun to Tyntesfield. More details to follow.” Events will be added to that page as booking opens.
Getting there
Tyntesfield is on the B3128 at Wraxall; the Trust gives BS48 1PA as the postcode for the main entrance gates. The gates open at 10am and are locked at 5pm in the winter months, so do not leave a car in the estate after the Estate closing time. The nearest station is Nailsea and Backwell, about four miles away (National Trust, Tyntesfield). For parking elsewhere in the district and roadworks on the way, see our parking and roadworks pages. Other Christmas plans across North Somerset are on our Christmas lights page and our Christmas bin collections page.
Still to be confirmed
- The Christmas 2026 theme, its dates and whether Father Christmas visits: expected on the Trust’s Christmas page in October or November.
- January 2027 opening hours, not yet on the Trust’s calendar.
- Wreath-making workshop prices and times, shown at booking.
