Allegro opens a Portishead warehouse on 5 October and a second Clevedon unit on 1 November, adding 25,000 sq ft of fulfilment space in North Somerset.
A fulfilment company based in Clevedon is taking on two more warehouses in North Somerset, adding 25,000 sq ft of space between them.
Allegro says the newly acquired Portishead warehouse becomes operational on 5 October 2026, and an additional warehouse at its established Clevedon operation follows on 1 November 2026. The two together are what the firm puts at 25,000 sq ft.
Allegro is a third-party fulfilment business: other companies’ stock sits in its warehouses, and Allegro picks, packs, dispatches and handles the returns, with its warehouse system plugged into the customer’s online shop. Its existing addresses, listed on its own website, are Units 1, 23 and 24 at Hither Green in Clevedon, and Unit 3 on Blackfriars Road in Nailsea. The Portishead unit is not yet on that list.
What the managing director says
Marcus Gater, Allegro’s managing director, said: “North Somerset has always been an important part of Allegro and we’re really proud to be continuing to invest and grow here.
“Expanding our operation in Clevedon and into Portishead is a big milestone for us. It gives us the capacity to welcome more e-commerce businesses into Allegro, while continuing to give our existing customers the space and support they need to grow too.
“We have ambitious plans for the next few years and having the right space, team and technology in place means we’re ready for that next stage.”
The company describes the expansion as the next phase of growth after a recent brand refresh, and says the extra room is aimed at larger e-commerce brands from elsewhere in the UK as well as the customers it already has.
The numbers the firm publishes
Allegro’s own website carries three figures, which we checked on 24 September 2026: 25,594,587 items shipped in the last 12 months, 25,000 pick locations, and more than 100 software integrations with customers’ shops. Those are the company’s figures rather than audited ones, and it is worth reading them as its own account of its scale.
The company behind it is Allegro Logistics Limited, number 08809298 on the Companies House register, incorporated on 10 December 2013 and active, with its registered office on Whiteladies Road in Bristol. The firm says on its website that it was founded by a father and son, and names six people on its team page: Terry as chairman, Rob as founder, Marcus as managing director, Emma as finance director, Taylor as customer services manager and James as general manager.
Corrected 24 September: Emma’s role is finance director, not process director.
The industries it lists as its specialisms are fashion retail, supplements and vitamins, subscription boxes, pet accessories, and toys and gaming. It also says it plants trees monthly through The Tree App and sources recyclable packaging.
What it means for you
For most people in Clevedon and Portishead this is a change in what is inside two industrial units rather than anything visible from the road. The release does not say how many people the two sites will employ, or give the addresses of either new warehouse, so we cannot tell you whether the company is hiring locally or where exactly the Portishead unit is. If that changes we will update this page.
For a business in the area, the practical point is that there is about to be more warehouse and fulfilment capacity on the doorstep, from 5 October in Portishead and 1 November in Clevedon, at a company that already handles storage, picking and packing, UK and international shipping, returns and one-off campaign work.
Allegro can be reached on 01275 40 50 90 or at info@allegrologistics.co.uk, and its website is allegrologistics.co.uk.
